Live in the Moment

8 Nov

Over the weekend I took a pledge to live my life without resistant. I let my fears go and started my Live In the Moment Movement.

I made a list of different things that I would normally say heck no to or just wouldn’t think about doing. I know for a fact that great things happen when you stop over thinking and step out your comfortable little safe haven.

I recommend that you make a list and just do at least two things a day or even a week off that list. Challenge yourself to do what you never thought you would do. Here are a few things off my list:

1. Celebrate being single while I’m single
2. Take advantage of every opportunity
3. Remember what it was like to be naive and innocent
4.Sit under a tree and enjoy the fresh air.
5. Sit somewhere with my sisters with a great view and a damn good bottle of wine
6. Spend a weekend away from my computer

Found my Passion “Again”

15 Mar images (1)

Among the social networks and life coaches, mom bloggers you will read about turning your passion into a business. I’ve searched and searched my brain for that “passion” and wondered how will I know when I find it. I’ve been dead set on my Non-Profit Org. for the youth. I’ve always had that need and want to help, so I made it my goal and thought it was my passion.  So a few nights ago searching the web as usual and I came across  SheOwnsit.com which is a awesome site!  So there is an article there “5 tips to get unstuck” and after reading that  and mediating on finding that passion that everyone seems to have but me.

I was mentally floored when my thoughts took me back to 2010 and how I spent long days and nights putting together a business plan and portfolio for a cooking class business. I love to cook!! and I became discouraged when things didn’t come together like I wanted. Im a sucker for getting excited about something and with a blink of an eye I’m done when it doesn’t take off. Thats a terrible habit to have and reading that article gave me chills and reminded me of the drive I had for that project. The joy I felt when I was working toward something that meant so much to me. So my passion came back for me, well it never really left it was me that abandoned it.

My love for cooking and wanting to help kids will go hand and hand. So in the corner of the closet I went and pulled out all the brochures and menus etc I created and tears of joy came over me. How could my passion be so close and me miss it? I came to the conclusion that at that point in time when I wanted to take that business on it wasn’t the right time. I’ve grown and my drive is so much stronger, everything is so different and I’m ready. I’ve connected with some of the most successful women online and Im learning to be patient and constant. Jennifer James who has the largest social network for Mom Bloggers and whom I admire said, “Always challenge yourself to take chances and grow from them” . Words I’m living by now :)
